John Champion loves his job, and he says he owes it all to the great practical instruction from Isothermal. John is a 20-year-old graduate of Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy who started his college career in the Isothermal welding program. He decided to try truck driving, so he signed up for the Professional Driver Certification class in 2021. Since then, he’s been working for Brick Haulers of Forest City.

“I really enjoy it,” said John. “I stay local, so I’m home every night. My boss and my coworkers are great people to work with.”

He says the instruction at Isothermal really helped him get ahead in the business.

“The program at Isothermal is two months and gave us a lot of drive time and practice on backing and things like that.” John said. “I’ve seen a few people come through one of those shorter two-week programs at other places and they just were not nearly as prepared or confident as the students in my class. Our teachers were really good, too.”
