Isothermal Community College’s Practical Nursing (PN) program will turn 50 years old in 2022! In anticipation of this upcoming anniversary, the faculty and staff would like to recognize alumni from ICC’s PN program.

Emily graduated from ICC’s PN program in 2018.

When asked about her experience in the PN program, Emily had this to say:

“Joining the PN program at ICC was a pivotal time in my life. It allowed me to become the nurse I had always dreamed of being since I was a little girl. For anyone thinking about applying, I encourage you to take that step. I was originally going for my RN, and unfortunately did not make it. I lost confidence in myself and felt like a failure. I almost did not apply to the PN program, but thanks to the encouragement of Mrs. Koehler (PN faculty member) I decided to apply. I wound up being one of the top students in my PN class.

“The teachers truly care about you and want you to succeed and that makes a world of difference. I am currently an LPN working at a pediatric doctor’s office. I’m married to the love of my life and we recently welcomed our first baby boy into the world. I absolutely love being a nurse and if you think nursing is for you, I highly recommend the ICC PN program, I would not be where I am today without it.”
